I couldn’t resist a photo of these signs, even though I’ll have to tell you what they sign. The green sign on the left is the hard-fought notice (this went to a vote a couple of years ago) that you are entering Great Barrington, Massachusetts, birthplace of W.E.B. Du Bois. The sign on the left is for the Appalachian Trail, which crosses both Route 23 and Route 7, with the climb over East Mountain in between. It has arrows in both directions: south to Georgia, and north to Maine.
